Magical Grotto Set To Enchant Visitors To Poole Park
An all-new Christmas Grotto experience, which is being created by one of the UK’s leading events’ company, is set to open in Poole at the end of the month.
The Ark Christmas Grotto in Poole Park will become home from home for Santa Claus and his elves from November 27th all the way through until Christmas Eve.
Co-created by Eskimo Jo, who have developed Christmas events for Selfridges and Westfield Shopping Centres, and Dorset-based entertainment agency Funnybone, the Grotto will transform the park’s cricket pavilion in to a magical winter log cabin.
As part of the experience youngsters will meet Father Christmas and his elves, receive a special plush penguin soft toy and enjoy a supervised festive-themed craft activity like creating magical reindeer food.
Funded by The Ark, the one-off Grotto is operating as a not-for-profit initiative, with all proceeds going towards the local Fernheath Play charity which provides specialist free play and short breaks for all children; regardless of their background or abilities.
The Ark owner, Sarah de Lisle, said: “Since opening in December 2013 we have been committed to creating a first-class family entertainment hub in the heart of this beautiful park.
“To celebrate our first anniversary we wanted to do something truly special. We have enlisted the help and expertise of some of the country’s leading events’ and entertainments companies to create the Grotto.
“Our aim is for the Christmas Grotto to deliver a magical experience for children and adults to enjoy together, while raising much-needed funds for a deserving local charity,” she added.
Since opening, The Ark has become one of Poole’s most popular family destinations with its mix of high quality facilities including a bespoke soft play area, café, ice cream parlour and ice skating rink.
The Ark Christmas Grotto: tickets cost £12 per child. Pre-booking is advised. For further information, visit thearkpoolepark.co.uk/christmasgrotto. The Ark, Poole Park, BH15 2SF.
